As an Engineer III - Cloud Runtime Protection (Hybrid) in New York, NY, you'll join the Falcon Cloud Security organization to develop and operate high-scale cloud systems protecting workloads and securing Kubernetes environments for thousands of global customers. This role focuses on building cutting-edge runtime protection capabilities, handling massive data volumes for customer-facing solutions and internal tools. Leveraging industry-leading Cloud Workload Protection and Kubernetes & Container Security technologies, you'll directly contribute to stopping adversaries. The hybrid setup requires office visits twice weekly once the development center is established, blending collaboration with flexibility in our remote-first culture.
Design and develop secure, maintainable cloud-based systems providing runtime visibility, detection, and response for cloud workloads, ensuring robust protection at scale.
Work as part of a global team of skilled engineers, building and maintaining cloud services while collaborating cross-functionally to meet cloud security needs with scalable solutions.
Champion learning new technologies, including AI tools, and mentor team members on backend and data storage technologies to elevate team capabilities.
Continuously improve product architecture, performance, and user experience through evaluation and optimization, delivering reliable systems.
Own your work autonomously while helping maintain system reliability at scale in a fast-paced environment.
A Computer Science degree or equivalent experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems is required. You need 4+ years of production experience building, delivering, and maintaining large-scale systems, with strong programming skills in Go (Golang) or similar, excelling in multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing. Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability challenges, and best practices like testing, code reviews, and resilient architecture is crucial. Passion for shipping quality code frequently, impacting production, and thriving in collaborative, fast-paced settings is essential.
Exposure to Kubernetes (K8s), Redis, Cassandra, OpenSearch, message queuing like Kafka or RabbitMQ, cybersecurity experience, infrastructure as code, or open-source contributions (GitHub) will set you apart. This role requires periodic background and fingerprint checks per government customer requirements.
