Position Summary

The Engineer III/Senior/Staff role in Project Execution - Power Innovation is a pivotal position within Williams' high-impact team. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, you will design and integrate state-of-the-art generation, controls, and medium/high-voltage systems for on-site power plants tailored to hyperscale data centers. This role spans multiple engineering levels (III, Sr., Staff), offering progression based on experience: Engineer III requires 4+ years, Senior 8+ years, and Staff 15+ years in natural gas or petrochemical industries. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will drive the engineering lifecycle from concept to commissioning. Key duties include:

  • Designing and integrating generation, controls, and medium/high-voltage systems for BTM power plants, optimizing for reliability and efficiency.
  • Producing critical engineering deliverables such as calculations, one-line diagrams, protection settings, P&IDs, specifications, and IFC packages.
  • Planning and supporting testing and commissioning activities, analyzing results, resolving punch items, and meeting aggressive startup targets.
  • Anticipating stakeholder needs, framing requirements, and recommending solutions with clear trade-offs to balance technical and business constraints.
  • Continuously improving products and processes by applying lessons learned from field activities and industry best practices.
  • Collaborating closely with Operations, Safety, and Project Controls teams to ensure compliance, targeted training, and seamless project execution.
  • Championing safety standards and procedures during design reviews, vendor meetings, and on-site fieldwork.
  • Managing cost, schedule, vendor deliverables, and resources for assigned engineering scopes.
  • Preparing and delivering compelling technical presentations to leadership, partners, and clients.
  • Potentially supervising junior engineers or teams on specific tasks or work packages.
  • Handling other duties as assigned to support project success.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria, scaled by level:

Engineer III

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited institution, or Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology with P.E. license.
  • Minimum 4 years of multifaceted engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical industries.

Engineer Senior

  • Same education as above.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience; preferred 7+ years with PE Certification.

Engineer Staff

  • Same education as above.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience in the industry.

Additional requirements include excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, a strong safety focus, proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills, and expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
