Role Overview

The Engineer, IT Quality Control - Automation Testing role in our Bangalore GCC is pivotal to ensuring the highest standards in IT product quality. This position involves analyzing and inspecting IT products and processes for compliance with internal and external standards. Collaborating with IT Project Management, Business Integration, and Application Development teams, you'll proactively identify risks during implementation and integration projects. Regular audits, new procedure development, and cross-functional global teamwork define this mid-level role, applying expert knowledge to moderate-scope projects with complexity.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Quality Control Engineer focused on automation testing, your core duties include:

  • Designing and developing robust test automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and mobile platforms (Android/iOS as a plus).
  • Writing automated test scripts based on defined test cases, including test data definition for execution.
  • Analyzing test results, performing defect reporting and tracking on a regular basis.
  • Leading test planning, estimation, strategy development, and risk assessment.
  • Working closely with Business Analysts to translate requirements into comprehensive test cases and regression scenarios.
  • Applying Agile methodologies across the software development lifecycle to improve code quality.
  • Mentoring test engineers, fostering cross-team collaboration, and enhancing test efficiency globally.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a software-related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a software automation tester.
  • Strong hands-on experience with web applications, APIs, and scripting languages; design & development in high-level languages.
  • Expertise in all phases of SDLC, Agile practices, test planning, and analytical skills for requirement translation.

Desired Skills

  • Hands-on with Selenium, Appium for API, web, and mobile automation.
  • Experience with Jenkins/CI-CD, BDD/TDD/ATDD, OOP concepts, Katalon, non-functional testing.
  • Domain exposure to mobile apps, eCommerce, healthcare; excellent communication and problem-solving.
