Role Overview

The Engineer, IT Quality Control - Performance Engineering role in our Bangalore GCC is pivotal for ensuring robust IT systems performance in healthcare operations. This position within the IT Quality Control function analyzes and inspects IT products and processes for compliance with internal and external standards. Collaborating with IT Project Management, Business Integration, and Application Development teams, you'll proactively identify risks during implementation and integration projects. Expect to conduct audits, develop quality procedures, and apply working knowledge to moderate-scope projects, receiving general guidance while demonstrating sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Performance Engineering expert, you'll drive system reliability through hands-on testing and optimization:

  • Gain a strong understanding of application architecture, Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) modelling, environments, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide data-backed recommendations for system capacity, performance tuning, and workload balancing using statistical and historical data.
  • Collaborate with Architects and Test Leads to define NFRs and perform feasibility analysis via Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Develop, review, and enhance performance test scripts, incorporating parameterization, correlations, pacing, and think time.
  • Design workload models, execute tests, monitor server and database performance, and pinpoint bottlenecks.
  • Engage DBAs and Architects for optimizations, analyzing issues from browser to server using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Proficiency in dissecting tool outputs, resource utilization, logs, and DB traces to isolate issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive test reports and communicate findings to stakeholders across teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates need:

  • 7-9 years as a software Performance Engineer with core expertise in Performance testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with JMeter, BlazeMeter, Taurus, APM tools (Splunk, Dynatrace), profiling, and open-source monitoring.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies, microservices, DevOps/Performance Engineering approaches.
  • Strong skills in Java, SQL, scripting (Groovy, BeanShell), UNIX/Linux, SQL DB, MongoDB, plus healthcare, e-commerce, middleware, and Kafka.
  • Ability to work on moderate-complexity projects, identify solutions, and apply judgment within defined parameters.
