Position Summary

Williams is seeking a highly experienced Engineer Staff / Sr- Power to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform sophisticated technical tasks and lead teams on projects of major scope and complexity in power engineering.
  • Participate in developing and implementing technical standards, such as electrical area classification and grounding design.

  • Apply deep expertise to projects that enhance earnings and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate on compliance, improvement plans, and training needs across teams.
  • Manage resource requirements for high-stakes engineering initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to boost electrical system reliability via root cause analysis, PM optimization, and studies like arc flash, load flow, and coordination.
  • Enforce adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Oversee engineering package evaluations for standards, codes, and objectives compliance.
  • Diagnose complex electrical issues and provide expert guidance/training to field engineers.
  • Design and implement robust preventative maintenance programs for electrical systems.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses: short-circuit, protective coordination, arc flash, harmonics, voltage drop, load flow, transient motor start, and power factor correction.
  • Handle other duties as assigned to support Williams' mission.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited institution, OR Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong theoretical knowledge of power system analysis for low- and medium-voltage applications; experience with short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis; proficient in SKM Power Systems, ETAP, GE Multilin, SEL Relay Software; knowledge of API, IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA codes.
  • Preferred: Experience in layout/spacing design, equipment specification, grounding/protection studies; PE Certification; Project Management experience.
  • Other: Ability to work across engineering specialties; excellent organizational/interpersonal skills with safety as top priority; proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
