Role Overview

Join CrowdStrike's Counter Adversary Operations (CAO) Engineering Team as an Engineering Manager in Bucharest, Romania (hybrid). This research-heavy team serves as the innovation center within CAO, blending the inventive spirit of Labs, the rapid response of a SWAT team, and deep operational excellence. You'll lead efforts in Proofs of Concept (POCs), cost optimization, first-line defense, and best-in-class observability. Leveraging trillions of telemetry events from the Falcon platform, the CAO team combines Falcon Intelligence and Falcon OverWatch threat hunting to disrupt adversaries and raise their cost of doing business. This role is pivotal in building globally distributed, fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud-based systems processing over 1 trillion events daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead development of globally distributed, fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud-based critical systems handling over 1 trillion events per day.
• Provide strong leadership and foster growth for a team of software engineers, ensuring successful and timely completion of technical product development projects.
• Play a key role in hiring, retaining, and developing top software engineering talent.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering peers, sales, and product leaders to drive innovation.
• Champion engineering excellence in POCs, cost optimization, first-line defense mechanisms, and observability for all features.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you need a demonstrated track record of building strong core engineering teams and managing them effectively. Candidates should have 10+ years of software engineering experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including 3+ years of hands-on management leading engineering teams. A broad grounding in distributed systems development is essential, including concepts and API development. Solid design and problem-solving skills, with a passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance, are required. An MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience, is necessary. Proficiency in at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is mandatory.

Bonus points for exposure to cybersecurity and intelligence, experience with Golang, and container/container orchestration technologies.
