Role Overview

The Engineering Stores Technician role at PepsiCo's Leicester site provides critical stores support to Engineering and Operations teams. You'll ensure stock holdings meet site needs for safe, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery. This full-time position operates on a continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off, 12-hour shifts), offering a dynamic environment in the food and beverage sector. Manage inventory, supplier performance, and continuous improvements to minimise MTTR and hit KPI targets.

Key Responsibilities

Stores Management & Inventory Control

Work closely with Maintenance Planners, Leads, and SETs to support planned maintenance. Maintain accurate stock holdings aligned to site requirements, capturing all movements in CMMS. Perform weekly stock counts per PIUK procedures and update daily cost tracking spreadsheets.

Goods Receipt & Supplier Coordination

Receive goods inwards within 24 hours, gather supplier performance data, and store parts efficiently. Expedite replenishments via phone, email, or other methods, ensuring on-time, full-quantity, and quality deliveries. Manage new stock introductions and hold review meetings with FLE teams for transaction accuracy.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Control

Lead CI initiatives, preventative actions for health, safety, and food safety. Implement productivity ideas, control costs, and book parts against work orders with correct cost centres for precise equipment costing.

Qualifications & Requirements

Technical Skills

SAP Hana S4 proficiency and engineering parts knowledge are essential. Industrial experience in food manufacturing is advantageous. Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems is required.

Soft Skills & Experience

Demonstrate strong problem-solving with tools like Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and Ishikawa diagrams. Excellent influencing, communication, presentation, and decision-making skills. Proven background in frontline technician coaching. Be a motivated self-starter with prioritisation and planning expertise.
