The Environment, Health & Safety Manager at Cardinal Health's Guaynabo Operation reports to the Southeast Regional EHS Director. This pivotal role oversees EHS programs across the Guaynabo and Anasco manufacturing sites, managing a team of EHS professionals. You'll partner with operational leaders to proactively mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety. With 35% focus on leadership, 30% on hazard control and compliance, 15% on injury prevention and crisis management, and 20% on education, this position demands strategic vision and hands-on expertise in a dynamic healthcare manufacturing environment.
Implement global EHS strategies tailored to site needs, partnering with leaders to execute annual plans, standardize programs, and share best practices. Provide expert support during regulatory inquiries, natural disasters, and significant incidents to safeguard Cardinal Health's operations.
Conduct hazard assessments, develop mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards. Analyze metrics like injury rates and sustainability results, identify budgetary needs, and assist with audits, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and environmental reporting.
Lead investigations for injuries, manage case notifications, and implement business continuity plans. Provide EHS leadership in crises and close out recommendations from third-party insurers like FM Global.
Coach management on EHS responsibilities, supervise and develop EHS staff, and promote diversity within the workforce to build a robust safety culture.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with advanced degrees and certifications like CSP, CIH, or CHMM highly preferred. Proven experience as a trusted EHS partner in a matrixed organization is essential, along with collaborative leadership, ethical decision-making, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives. Expertise in Puerto Rico-specific regulations, manufacturing safety, and risk management will set you apart for success at Cardinal Health.
