PepsiCo
PepsiCo is a global leader in beverages and convenient foods, with products enjoyed over one billion times a day in more than 200 countries. In the UK, PepsiCo proudly produces iconic brands like Walkers, Quaker, Doritos, Pipers, and Monster Munch. Our operations include state-of-the-art sites such as the Quaker mill in Cupar, the Doritos factory in Coventry, and one of the world's largest crisp factories in Leicester. By the end of 2025, our UK office will relocate to a vibrant new location in Reading town centre, just minutes from the train station. Guided by our pep+ vision, PepsiCo Positive, we prioritise sustainability, human capital, and operating within planetary boundaries to drive value and positive change for people and the planet. With nearly $92 billion in net revenue in 2024, PepsiCo continues to innovate across a portfolio of billion-dollar brands including Lay’s, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, and more.
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator role at PepsiCo's Coventry site is a dynamic, shift-based position operating on a 4-on-4-off schedule with flexibility as needed. This role plays a critical part in upholding day-to-day EHS management, compliance, and auditing to maintain the highest standards across our Doritos factory. You will collaborate with operational teams, the EHS team, and GEHSMS Duty Holders to foster safe working practices through training, guidance, inspections, and proactive issue resolution. If you have a passion for health, safety, and environmental protection, this position offers an opportunity to drive EHS excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will support comprehensive EHS compliance aligned with UK legislation and PepsiCo's Global Environmental, Health and Safety Management System (GEHSMS). Key duties include working with Operations, Projects, and other functions to promote best practices and address issues early. You will contribute to resolving significant near misses, participate in accident investigations, and conduct thorough site-wide inspections covering Environmental, PPE, Line-Specific, Fire Protection, Walking Working Surfaces (WWS), and Contractor Control.
Additional responsibilities encompass owning GEHSMS elements such as Waste Management, Spill Prevention, WWS, and PPE. You will complete risk assessments with shift teams for COSHH, Task-Based, PUWER (with MESS duty holder), and Aspects & Impacts. Delivering targeted EHS training—including site inductions, Manual Handling, DSEAR Awareness, Face Fit Testing, and Safe Working Procedure (SWP) development—is essential. Daily GEMBA walks will involve engaging front-line teams, observing hazards, auditing permits and contractors, and coaching safe behaviours. You will also promote a robust EHS culture through communications, campaigns, and routine tasks as business needs arise.
Candidates should hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, or demonstrate relevant experience in an EHS role. A genuine passion for health, safety, and the environment is crucial, along with the ability to engage teams across all functions. Strong coordination skills are needed to manage time effectively and secure commitment to action plans. Excellent communication—both verbal and written—is required for 1:1 interactions, group presentations, and reporting.
Flexibility is key, with availability for 24/7 support as dictated by business needs. PC literacy, particularly with spreadsheets, is essential. Desirable qualifications include experience in manufacturing, Approved General Risk Assessor status, PUWER/COSHH/DSE/Manual Handling training, environmental management knowledge, and competencies in DSEAR or Confined Space.
Ideal applicants thrive in shift environments, excel at building relationships, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
PepsiCo offers a competitive salary, performance bonus, and car allowance. Enjoy flexible working, critical illness cover, discounted gym memberships, enhanced parental leave, and electric car schemes. Our comprehensive benefits package supports wellbeing and work-life balance, contributing to our status as a Top Employer for 14 consecutive years.
At PepsiCo, career development is a priority. This EHS Coordinator role provides hands-on experience in a global manufacturing leader, opening doors to advanced EHS positions, leadership opportunities, and cross-functional projects.
