Position Summary

Williams is seeking talented Environmental Specialists I, II, and III specializing in Air Compliance for our Wysox, Pennsylvania location. This is your chance to join a dynamic team ensuring our operations meet stringent air quality regulations while advancing clean energy goals. In this role, you'll review proposed equipment and operational changes, manage environmental permits, oversee stack testing, and submit critical regulatory reports. You'll stay ahead of evolving regulations like the Clean Air Act, conduct site inspections, train field staff, and partner with engineering and operations teams on environmental initiatives. Whether you're starting at Level I or advancing to III, this position offers challenges, growth, and the satisfaction of protecting the environment in the energy sector.

Levels differ by experience: Level I requires 4+ years, focusing on advanced risk assessment and policy development; Level II (2+ years) emphasizes straightforward compliance and training; Level III builds functional expertise across air, water, and waste.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and guide environmental processes/policies; deliver required training to staff and partners.
  • Assess environmental risks, recommend actions, and handle regulatory documentation.
  • Participate in project planning, including scheduling, cost estimating, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Prepare and submit complex applications for permits, renewals, approvals, variances, and authorizations; coordinate with agencies.
  • Conduct compliance audits, due diligence, and site inspections.
  • Improve systems for air, water, waste management, and remediation.
  • Prepare compliance reports, certifications, plans, and inventories for regulators.
  • Research standards, interpret federal/state/local regulations, and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory agencies and company partners.
  • Other duties as assigned, supporting broader environmental initiatives.

Air Compliance Focus

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Environmental Specialist I: Bachelor’s degree + minimum 4 years environmental experience.
  • Environmental Specialist II: Bachelor’s degree + minimum 2 years environmental experience.
  • Environmental Specialist III: Advanced experience in air compliance preferred.

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Functional/technical knowledge in air, water, and/or waste management.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Safety as utmost priority; proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
  • Ability to handle deadlines, resolve compliance issues, and collaborate cross-functionally.
