Position Summary

Williams is seeking talented Environmental Specialists II and III to join our team in North Canton, Ohio. These mid-level roles are perfect for professionals with functional and technical expertise in air, water, and/or waste management. As an Environmental Specialist III, you'll lead projects and programs of moderate complexity, leveraging your specialized skills to ensure regulatory compliance and drive environmental excellence. The Level II role focuses on resolving straightforward environmental challenges while broadening your capabilities in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

For Environmental Specialist III

  • Develop, maintain, and provide guidance on environmental processes/policies; conduct required training.
  • Assess environmental risks, recommend actions, and implement approved remediation plans, including regulatory documentation.
  • Lead environmental project planning, including scheduling, cost estimating, impact assessments, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit complex applications for permits, renewals, variances, and authorizations; coordinate with partners.
  • Perform compliance audits and due diligence investigations.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in air, water, waste management, and remediation systems.
  • Assist with compliance reports, certifications, and program documentation.
  • Cultivate relationships with regulatory agencies and interpret federal, state, and local regulations.

For Environmental Specialist II

  • Provide guidance on environmental processes/policies.
  • Assess risks and assist in determining appropriate actions with regulatory documentation.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with partners.
  • Conduct environmental training for company partners.
  • Assist with compliance reports, certifications, and documentation maintenance.
  • Research governmental and industry regulations to support compliance efforts.

Other duties as assigned will help you grow and adapt in this dynamic role.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of environmental experience (Level III); relevant experience for Level II.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP, GHG Reporting, and state requirements.
  • Preferred: RCRA, EPCRA, SPCC, NPDES, OSHA, NFPA, and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in emissions modeling software (e.g., US EPA TANKS 4.0.9d, E&P Tanks, GRI Glycalc, BR&E Promax).
  • Preferred: Optical Gas Imaging certification and air pollution modeling experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC applications.
