Position Summary

The Environmental Specialist III/IV role at Williams Companies in Salt Lake City, Utah, is perfect for seasoned professionals passionate about environmental stewardship in the energy industry. Key Responsibilities

• Provide route adjustment recommendations and coordinate environmental or cultural resource surveys.
• Acquire permits, monitor compliance, and manage waste during construction through closeout.
• Recommend environmental construction standards for pipelines and facilities.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and status reporting.
• Procure contractors for wetland delineations, cultural reviews, stormwater plans, and species surveys.
• Prepare environmental authorization packages and evaluate regulatory changes.
• Ensure compliance mechanisms like environmental inspectors and spill notifications.
• Develop environmental processes/policies and provide guidance/mentorship.
• Prepare sophisticated permit applications and conduct compliance audits.
• Interpret regulations, cultivate agency relationships, and submit compliance reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum eight (8) years of environmental experience, preferably in energy or oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state (Utah), and local environmental regulations.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
• Demonstrated safety priority and ability to mentor others.
• Experience with permitting, risk assessment, and stakeholder coordination preferred.
