We have a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join Eurofins BPT in Dungarvan Co Waterford. 

The primary objective of this position is to deliver on-site support for Eurofins BPT Buildings 1 & 2 and their surrounding grounds. A key responsibility is ensuring the reliability and functionality of all facilities systems, plant,and utilities including steam systems, autoclaves, plumbing, boilers, air-handling systems, compressors, vacuums, pneumatics, water systems, and basic electronics / electrical systems. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Assist the Facilities Manager with the following tasks:

• Manage facility projects from planning and budgeting to execution within agreed timelines.
• Maintain and oversee the Building Management System (BMS) and site security systems.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks for facilities staff and external vendors.
• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs as required.
• Respond to building emergencies, including occasional call-outs.
• Maintain building appearance and plant room organization.
• Monitor heating oil, propane gas, and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure accurate labeling of valves, switches, and electrical contacts.
• Keep maintenance documentation up to date in line with company procedures.
• Identify recurring faults, investigate root causes, and implement solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for facilities operations.
• Act as deputy for the Facilities Manager when required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing fitter/electrical support in a production or laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of building systems and utilities listed in the job summary.
• Strong carpentry skills; creative and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
• Previous experience maintaining equipment and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Diligent, organized, and detail-oriented with a proven track record of productivity.
• Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
• Ability to prioritize work effectively and devise practical solutions.
• Full, clean driving license (desirable).
• Engineering qualification (desirable).
• Knowledge of steam systems (desirable).
• Demonstrable experience in facilities, building, or engineering roles.
