The Executive Director, Asset Team Leader - Immunology, is a pivotal enterprise leadership role at Gilead Sciences. Reporting jointly to Commercial and Development Therapeutic Area Heads, this position leads cross-functional teams shaping asset vision, strategic direction, and lifecycle plans across multiple immunology indications and drug combinations. Based in Foster City, California, the Gilead Asset Team Leader (GATL) serves as the primary liaison to senior leadership, driving optimal program execution in development, manufacturing, and commercialization.
This senior role demands expertise in navigating complex challenges, fostering collaboration, and delivering results in a fast-paced biotech environment. Lead Gilead asset teams in developing cohesive strategies, assessing resources, managing timelines, and mitigating risks to align with broader goals.
Enable seamless collaboration by understanding each function's role, ensuring transparent information flow and shared vision across teams and partners.
Oversee milestone achievement, monitor progress against Target Product Profile, Asset Plan, and Lifecycle Plan, while adhering to timelines and budgets.
Craft global strategies for product development, manufacturing, commercialization, and lifecycle management, adapting to evolving clinical, regulatory, and commercial landscapes.
Facilitate high-impact decisions, conduct scenario planning, risk analysis, and present data objectively to Portfolio Committee for Go/No Go decisions.
Build high-performing, inclusive teams and strong relationships with internal/external partners to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Candidates must possess an advanced scientific, medical, or commercial background with deep expertise in drug development, particularly in immunology therapeutic areas. A proven track record in enterprise leadership is essential, including experience optimizing asset outcomes across Development and Commercialization. Key capabilities include adept navigation of programmatic complexities, fostering productive debate, and articulating scientific rationale to diverse audiences. This role requires collaboration with Therapeutic Area Leaders and Business Development for portfolio strategy.
