Description

As a Financial Controller, you will take on a variety of key responsibilities:

Finance and Accounting Leadership

• Oversee preparation and review of monthly departmental P&Ls, quarterly and annual financial statements, and annual budgets.
• Partner with external advisors on statutory accounts and tax computations.
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all financial and tax reporting requirements, including VAT, payroll taxes and corporate income tax.
• Provide documentation and support for internal/external audits.
• Identify and lead cost‑reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Contribute to financial strategy, business planning, and operational execution.
• Act as a business partner to district operations management, offering financial insights and expertise.
• Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Compliance

• Ensure full adherence to statutory, fiscal, and regulatory requirements across the three countries.
• Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
• Champion a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
• Communicate proactively with finance teams to ensure understanding of policies and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

Requirements 

• A professionally qualified accountant (ACCA or CPA equivalent) is preferred, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
• 10+ years’ broad finance and accounting experience.
• Deep knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements in Sweden; experience across the Nordics is advantageous.
• Fluent in English, proficiency in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian is a plus.

Skills 

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Working knowledge of Power BI.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of driving change.
• Solid experience in compliance, tax and internal controls.
