Join CrowdStrike's Vulnerability Management Team within Exposure Management as an Engineering Manager for Network Vulnerability Detection. This hybrid role, based in Sunnyvale, California (or Redmond, WA), focuses on leading efforts to help customers fingerprint, identify, and assess network devices using advanced detection techniques. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product management, and security researchers to enhance detection capabilities, build a high-performing team, and shape the future of CrowdStrike's Exposure Management platform. With a disclosed salary range of $140,000 - $215,000 USD per year, this position offers substantial upside through equity and performance incentives.
Lead the development of detection capabilities for identifying and assessing network infrastructure vulnerabilities via fingerprinting techniques and pipelines. Set the technical vision and roadmap to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Monitor vulnerability disclosures from major vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, and Cisco. Translate research into actionable detections that shield customers from evolving risks.
Manage a distributed team of vulnerability detection engineers and technical leads. Foster collaboration across time zones to produce high-quality detection content.
Partner with product management and engineering to align detections with customer needs, influencing the Exposure Management platform's evolution and company strategy.
Own validation processes and implement automated workflows upholding CrowdStrike's rigorous security standards.
To excel in this role, candidates need 8+ years in cybersecurity or vulnerability management, including 5+ years of management experience leading technical teams. Hands-on technical leadership in vulnerability detection techniques and network security is essential, alongside excellent communication for executive and technical audiences. Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, programming in Go, Python, or similar, and the ability to work 2+ days per week onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, or Redmond, WA, are required.
Bonus qualifications include network device fingerprinting experience, vulnerability management product development, security detection pipeline design, remote team leadership, CVE analysis, CVSS scoring, organizational scaling, GenAI/Agentic AI for security workflows, and thought leadership in Exposure Management via publications or speaking.
