Position Summary
Sonoco seeks a skilled Extrusion Line Operator for our Hanover, PA facility. Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, you'll manage extruder and printing operations on night shift (7pm-7am). Enjoy a rotating 12-hour schedule: 3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off, working ~15 days/month with every-other-weekend 3-day breaks. Base wage $24.25/hour + $0.45 night differential, double time Saturdays, quarterly bonuses, and immediate benefits eligibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extruder systems including pressure calibration tanks, cooling tanks, cutters, re-cutters, chilling systems, and printers.
- Install printing plates, ensure alignment and registration for precise production.
- Monitor ink application and curing, maintain quality standards, perform cleaning.
- Adjust equipment for optimal plastic tube production rates and quality.
- Document processes, conduct inspections, and train team members.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years manufacturing or printing equipment experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for machinery/computers.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work overtime, rotate shifts.
- Basic reading/writing/arithmetic; effective verbal/written communication.

- Operate to ensure proper ink application and curing, comply with quality standards, clean color heads, plates, and blankets
- Observe production of plastic tubes, make adjustments to maintain production rate and quality
- Document quality and process information, assist with inspections, train team members
