The opportunity

 

We are currently seeking to recruit high calibre professionals in the level of Senior to join EY’s Direct tax team in our Nicosia office and help our clients in tax projects at different industry sectors. Our team helps supporting and delivering direct personal tax advisory and tax compliance services for their clients in Cyprus and globally.

Your key responsibilities

 

• Work with the team on a broad range of interesting clients, deal directly with clients on a day-to-day basis to manage direct tax compliance and advisory matters under the supervision of more senior team members.
• Support the team in the delivery of direct personal tax advisory projects for various direct taxes such as income tax, special defence contributions, social insurance and general healthcare system.
• Support the successful delivery of direct tax projects, such as preparation of rulings, support in relation to tax audits, reviewing the tax position of individuals and assisting with the completion and submission of various Tax Forms and Returns.
• Build and maintain relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
• Help to create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop professionally and personally.
• Keep up to date with current developments in the field of tax and apply knowledge to relevant client cases.

To qualify for the role you must have

 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (minimum 2:1, 7.5/10) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields and/or ACA, ACCA or any other professional qualification;
• 2 years of relative working experience, preferably in a Big four professional services firm, will be considered as an advantage;
• Fluency in Greek and English written and spoken. Any additional language is an asset;
• Motivation to start or continue a career in the direct tax in an International environment.
