Key Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician Trainee, your primary accountabilities include:

• Repairing and conducting preventative maintenance on marketing equipment like vending machines and coolers.
• Unloading/reloading products and filling installed equipment to proper specifications.
• Installing new units by routing lines, connecting water/gas supplies, and handling drains for ice systems.
• Prioritizing service calls to meet customer windows, driving to sites, and performing necessary plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or carpentry work.
• Maintaining accurate parts inventory on your truck, completing paperwork every two hours, and fostering positive relationships with customer contacts.
• Transporting items like compressors for repair and ensuring regular, reliable attendance.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet these basic qualifications:

• Be 18 years or older (21+ if CDL is required).
• Hold a valid U.S. CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable; note California-specific rules do not apply here).
• Pass DOT Physical and Road-test if required, and adhere to DOT Regulations.
• For senior progression, obtain refrigeration certification Type I/Type II.
• Demonstrate ability to lift/carry 20-45 lbs repeatedly, move 800-1200 lb vending machines, and work in confined spaces (kneeling, crouching, etc.).

Helpful experience includes working with mechanical systems, basic refrigeration/electrical/plumbing, customer service, equipment installation, and scheduling.
