Role Overview

The Fleet Technician 1 (Senior) position at PepsiCo's Lorton, Virginia facility is a pivotal role in maintaining one of North America's largest fleets. Key Responsibilities

As a Fleet Technician 1 (Senior), your daily impact includes:

  • Executing advanced diagnostics across platforms like Volvo, International, Freightliner, and more.
  • Handling high-level repairs on engines, drivelines, after-treatment/emissions systems, and safety features.
  • Building capabilities for alternative fuels including EVs, CNG, and B100 biodiesel.
  • Maintaining detailed records, pre-trip checklists, and test-driving vehicles post-repair.
  • Responding to service calls, mentoring junior mechanics, and championing PepsiCo's safety culture.

Daily Workflow

Expect task variety: disassembling/repairing parts, welding, tire changes, and forklift maintenance. You'll leverage company-provided iPads for documentation and diagnostics, ensuring efficiency in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates must meet these essentials:

  • CDL Class B License and ability to pass DOT physical/road test.
  • ASE, MACS, or Military AC certification; Brakes Certification required.
  • Experience with hydraulic/air brakes, after-treatment/emissions, driveline, and engine repairs on Class 6-8 diesels.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools (Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, etc.) and shop equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., climb, bend, and handle tools (own basic hand tools needed).
  • 18+ years old (21+ if CDL required); English communication skills.

Helpful: Welding, parts inventory, forklift repairs, PM programs, and computer proficiency (iPad/laptop diagnostics).
