As a Fleet Technician 2, your core duties include:

  • Performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs with high independence using advanced tools and voice applications.
  • Conducting diagnostics across OE platforms like Volvo, International, Freightliner, and more, including electric vehicles and material handling equipment.
  • Executing complex repairs on engines, drivelines, after-treatment/emissions systems, and safety features.
  • Adapting to alternative fuels such as electric vehicles, CNG, and B100 biodiesel.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, vehicle records, and pre-trip checklists.
  • Responding to service calls and upholding PepsiCo's safety-first culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates must meet these essentials:

  • Brakes Certification with experience in hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Proven experience in after-treatment/emissions and driveline repairs on Class 6-8 diesel vehicles.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic platforms like Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, or similar.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, with movements involving bending, reaching, climbing (accommodations considered).
  • At least 18 years old; ability to pass forklift driving skills test if required.
  • Own basic hand tools; company provides diagnostics, ergonomics, and high-tech equipment.

Helpful experiences include wheel/tire work, parts inventory, shop tools (welding, hoists), forklift repairs, heavy-duty equipment maintenance, and computer proficiency (iPad, diagnostics software).
