The Fleet Technician 2 (Experienced) - Phase 1 & 2 position in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a pivotal role within PBNA's operations. As an experienced Fleet Technician, you'll ensure the reliability of our extensive fleet, including automobiles, light and heavy trucks, vans, forklifts, and emerging electric vehicles. This full-time position offers a competitive target pay of $36.63 per hour, translating to approximately $76,190 annually, with world-class equipment, technology, and training provided. In this role, you'll handle a variety of tasks critical to fleet uptime and driver safety. Day-to-day duties include performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs with a high degree of independence. Conduct advanced diagnostics across OEM platforms such as Volvo, International, Freightliner, and Maxon, including electric vehicles and material handling equipment. Execute high-level repairs on engines, drivelines, aftertreatment, emissions, and safety systems. Adapt to alternative fuel technologies like electric vehicles (EV), compressed natural gas (CNG), and B100 biodiesel. Diagnose failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as needed, while maintaining accurate documentation, vehicle records, and pre-trip checklists. Respond to service calls promptly and support PepsiCo's unwavering commitment to safety standards and procedures. Be part of the team upholding one of North America's largest fleets.
Expect task variety, from wheel torqueing and parts management to utilizing shop tools like engine hoists and welders. Work on heavy-duty equipment, including class 6-8 diesel trucks, brakes, tires, liftgates, and Thermo King units.
To succeed as a Fleet Technician 2, candidates must meet essential minimum requirements and bring proven experience. You must be at least 18 years of age, able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation), and capable of physical movements like bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects. Passing a Forklift Driving Skills test is required if applicable. Bring your own basic hand tools; diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment are company-provided.
Key qualifications include Brakes Certification with experience in hydraulic and air brake systems, performing aftertreatment and emissions repairs on class 6-8 diesel vehicles, driveline repairs, and using diagnostic platforms like Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, or Altec. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, parts inventory, and working under limited supervision is essential.
