Role Overview

The Fleet Technician 2 (Experienced) - Phase 1 & 2 position in Wilmington, Massachusetts, is ideal for skilled mechanics passionate about maintaining world-class fleet vehicles. This full-time role offers a Monday-Friday shift from 4am-12pm, paying a target of $40.35 per hour. You'll work independently in a fast-paced, safety-first environment with access to cutting-edge tools, diagnostics like Noregon and Uptake predictive analytics, and ongoing training. Support PepsiCo's massive North American fleet, including light/heavy trucks, vans, automobiles, forklifts, and emerging electric vehicles. Key Responsibilities

As a Fleet Technician 2, your daily tasks drive operational excellence:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs with high independence using voice-guided PM apps and advanced diagnostics.
  • Perform diagnostics across OEM platforms like Volvo, International, Freightliner, and more, including electric vehicles and material handling equipment.
  • Execute high-level repairs on engines, drivelines, after-treatment/emissions systems, brakes, and safety features.
  • Adapt to alternative fuel technologies, building capabilities for EVs, CNG, and biodiesel.
  • Diagnose failures, disassemble/repair/reassemble parts, maintain detailed records, and handle service calls.
  • Support safety culture by adhering to all standards and using provided ergonomic tools.

Daily Workflow

Expect task variety: from wheel torqueing and inventory management to forklift repairs and computer-based documentation via company iPad/iPhone. Work in clean facilities with team knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Brakes Certification and hands-on experience with hydraulic/air brakes.
  • Proven repairs on Class 6-8 diesel drivelines, engines, emissions.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Noregon, Snapon, Nexiq, etc.).
  • Physical ability: lift 50 lbs, climb, bend, pinch (accommodations considered).
  • Own basic hand tools; company provides diagnostics, PPE, uniforms.
  • 18+ years old; pass Forklift Driving Skills test if needed.
