The Fleet Technician 3 (Entry Level) - Phase 1 & 2 position at PepsiCo's Omaha, Nebraska location is an exciting entry point into a high-impact role within our world-class maintenance operations. As a Fleet Technician, you'll ensure the reliability of one of North America's largest fleets, supporting drivers and operations with precision repairs and preventive maintenance. This full-time role offers a competitive starting pay of $33.00 per hour, translating to an annual salary of $68,640, with opportunities for growth. Work in a fast-paced, clean facility equipped with state-of-the-art tools, ergonomics, and technology like voice-guided PM apps, Noregon diagnostics, and Uptake predictive analytics. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals seeking independence, variety, and career advancement in the beverage industry.
In this role, you'll handle a wide range of tasks to keep PepsiCo's fleet— including light/heavy trucks, vans, automobiles, and forklifts—running smoothly. Day-to-day duties include performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs with a high degree of independence. You'll diagnose failures using cutting-edge tools, disassemble and reassemble parts, and leverage technologies like TAAS for efficiency. Accurate documentation is key: maintain work orders, vehicle records, part reconciliation, and pre-trip checklists in our vehicle software systems. Safety is paramount; you'll support PepsiCo's strong safety culture by adhering to all standards and procedures. Technicians work independently yet receive coaching as needed, in a supportive team environment committed to ergonomics and safety first.
PepsiCo provides extensive training to build on your skills, making this role accessible for entry-level candidates. Minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old, able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation), and possessing your own basic hand tools—diagnostic and high-tech equipment is company-provided. Physical demands involve lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects. You must pass a Forklift Driving Skills test if applicable. Helpful experience includes removing/replacing wheels to torque specs, working under limited supervision, using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, tire changes), PM programs, computer use for diagnostics, and hydraulic/air brake systems. PepsiCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer, considering qualified applicants with criminal histories per applicable laws like the Fair Chance Ordinances.
PepsiCo offers an unbeatable compensation package starting Day 1. Enjoy medical, vision, and dental insurance immediately, plus company-provided retirement benefits and paid time off. Receive a company iPad, iPhone, uniforms, PPE, and work boot allowance. Benefit from world-class tooling, clean facilities, and a safety-first culture. Ongoing training ensures skill development, with incentives for performance.
From ergonomic workstations to predictive analytics, everything is designed for technician success and comfort.
This entry-level position is a launchpad for advancement within PBNA. Continuous education, hands-on experience with diverse equipment, and a team culture fostering knowledge sharing position you for promotions to senior technician roles or beyond. PepsiCo invests in your development through specialized training on advanced diagnostics and fleet technologies, opening doors in supply chain, maintenance management, and operations leadership.
