Role Overview

The Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager position at our Lima, Ohio facility is a pivotal leadership role within PepsiCo Supply Chain. In this position, you will ensure strict adherence to quality and food safety protocols, producing the premium products our consumers demand. You will lead FSQ Technicians, develop FSQ Supervisors, and partner with Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to implement sustainable, world-class quality processes. As FSQ Manager, your responsibilities will span operational leadership and strategic oversight:

  • Direct process management for critical systems including water treatment, concentrate/syrup batching, ingredient receiving/storage, and quality lab standards.
  • Oversee comprehensive sanitation programs, including performance monitoring, employee training, vendor management, and compliance with quality and food safety requirements.
  • Leverage advanced data analytics tools to monitor real-time FSQ data, identify trends, and develop corrective/preventive action plans that boost quality, safety, and consumer performance.
  • Coordinate site-wide FSQ training for all organizational levels and manage calibration programs for lab and processing equipment.
  • Lead FSQ risk assessments in partnership with Sector FSQ, manage non-conforming products to minimize losses, and drive waste elimination initiatives like DNC and yield targeting.
  • Oversee Food Safety Management Systems, including Food Defense, Internal Audits, and Corrective Action Plans.
  • Manage audits such as GFSI, AIB GMP, Regulatory Readiness, and QAS, while demonstrating effective change leadership.
  • Handle key vendor relationships with partners like Ecolab, lab equipment providers, and pest control services.
  • Ensure flawless execution of non-conforming product programs, hold management systems, and consumer complaint analysis for trend identification and resolution.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in food safety and quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills to build and develop FSQ teams.
  • Expertise in data analytics, audit management, and regulatory compliance (GFSI, AIB, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership abilities.
  • Familiarity with sanitation, vendor management, and risk assessment processes.
