Role Overview

The Forensics Lab Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid) role on the CrowdStrike Services TechOps team is pivotal in enabling incident response and forensics analysis. Based in Austin, Texas, you'll collaborate with consultants to create stable, secure environments for evidence analysis. This full-time position demands expertise in cloud and on-premises infrastructure, with a hybrid work model that balances office collaboration and flexibility. If you thrive in high-stakes cybersecurity environments, handling physical devices, AWS architectures, and VDI systems while upholding chain-of-custody protocols, this role positions you at the heart of stopping breaches.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be the backbone of our forensics lab, ensuring seamless operations for investigations.

• Receive, image, and process physical devices sent to CrowdStrike, meticulously maintaining chain of custody from receipt to disposition.
• Design, deploy, and maintain physical and virtualized infrastructure tailored for forensic investigations.
• Administer VDI environments with rigorous security controls to preserve digital evidence integrity.
• Architect, deploy, and optimize AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, SQS, and IAM for scalable, secure cloud operations.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with tools like Terraform, manage access controls, and monitor performance for reliability.
• Establish patch management, performance monitoring, and high-availability protocols while complying with data protection standards.
• Provide timely ticketing support to internal consultants and assist with forensic imaging troubleshooting.
• Participate in team discussions for improvements, maintain forensic tools, and contribute to process documentation.
• Join a rotating on-call schedule for critical off-hours support.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Skills

• Cloud infrastructure administration with AWS services (S3, EC2, SQS, IAM).
• VMware experience with ESXi, vCenter, and Aria.
• Enterprise server hardware and storage systems (NAS/SAN) management, emphasizing availability, performance, security, and recovery.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration, including Active Directory Group Policy.
• Network infrastructure implementation, management, and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and automated deployment tools for patching and OSD.
• Programming experience, preferably Python, with quick adaptability.
• High attention to detail, ability to perform under pressure, and success in asynchronous environments.
