The Frito Lay Maintenance Millwright position at our Taber, Alberta facility offers a rewarding opportunity to join a high-performance team keeping snack production at peak efficiency. This full-time role features a 4-on/4-off rotating shift schedule (4 day shifts, 4 off, 4 night shifts, 4 off), providing excellent work-life balance. As a Maintenance Millwright, you'll play a critical role in ensuring seamless operations at the Taber plant. Your duties include performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment to minimize downtime. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and analyze equipment failures using advanced diagnostic tools. Installing and upgrading production lines with new technology will be a key part of modernizing our operations. Additionally, you'll contribute to site-wide safety and quality initiatives, fostering a zero-incident culture. Collaboration with technicians, contractors, and production teams ensures the facility runs at optimal capacity, supporting Frito Lay's high-volume snack production.
To succeed in this role, candidates must hold a Journeyman Millwright Certification (Alberta or Red Seal). An Electrical or Power Engineering/Steam Ticket is considered an asset. A minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing or production environments is required, with familiarity in predictive maintenance, instrumentation, and PLCs highly valued. The role demands physical stamina: ability to lift and carry 45–60 lbs continuously for 8–12 hours, push/pull up to 80 lbs frequently, and perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping. Completion of required Safety and Quality/Food Safety training is mandatory, along with full compliance with site policies.
