As a Full-Time Hospital Pharmacist at Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie and Greenfield, IN, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. Reporting primarily to the Muncie location with split time in Greenfield, you'll work Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM and weekends 8AM-12PM. This Pharmacist II position involves verifying orders, dispensing medications, supervising technicians, and driving operational excellence in a hospital setting. With an anticipated hourly range of $50.10 - $71.70, this role offers competitive compensation and the chance to advance in a leading healthcare organization.
Your daily impact will include applying expert knowledge to verify physician orders via the pharmacy information system, addressing alerts on drug types, doses, and interactions. You'll supervise Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring all work complies with Indiana State Board of Pharmacy regulations while guiding on complex prescriptions and automation systems.
Adjust dosages per established protocols, considering patient conditions and concurrent medications, while contributing to antimicrobial stewardship. Provide essential education to patients on medication use, especially for polypharmacy cases, new regimens, or discharges. Collaborate with nurses and physicians to clarify orders and maintain seamless care delivery.
Manage narcotics and inventory controls through meticulous documentation, audits, and checklists. Assist the Pharmacy Director in accreditation maintenance and operational enhancements, such as implementing new systems or procedures.
To succeed, you need to be a licensed pharmacist in good standing in Indiana or willing to obtain licensure. Preferred qualifications include in-patient hospital pharmacy experience and IV experience (or willingness to obtain). Flexibility for various shifts is essential, along with strong communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and patients. You'll require manual dexterity for handling objects, computer proficiency for multiple pharmacy systems, and excellent customer service. Vendor credentialing may be needed.
