Role Overview

Cardinal Health is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician II for our managed pharmacy operations at Arizona State Hospital (ASH) in Phoenix, Arizona. This onsite position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, on a secure 93-acre campus providing long-term inpatient psychiatric care. You'll support ASH and the Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center (ACPTC), assisting pharmacists in daily operations while ensuring regulatory compliance and superior patient care. Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician II, you'll play a vital role in efficient pharmacy operations:

  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders per State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Prepare medications for dispensing, packaging, and shipment with precision.
  • Manage inventory by taking stock, placing orders, checking in supplies, stocking shelves, and removing expired items.
  • Enter medical supply orders and patient prescription data into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Process returned medications for credit or destruction following protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Active State Pharmacy Technician license/registration required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks, multitasking, and technology like computers, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Flexibility in schedule, teamwork ability, and sound judgment under moderate supervision.
