Job Description

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Failure Analysis Technician to support investigations into product failures, with a focus on electromechanical medical probes and subassemblies. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, reliability, and patient safety. The ideal candidate will assist engineers and cross-functional teams by performing technical analyses, documenting findings, and maintaining lab equipment.

Job Description

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a failure analysis, quality, or test technician role—preferably in the medical device or electronics industry or related experience – OR – a minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in failure analysis, quality inspection, or electromechanical assembly in lieu of formal education.

  • Familiarity with basic failure analysis tools and techniques (e.g., microscopes, multimeters, X-ray inspection). 

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions. 

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. 

  • Comfortable working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SEM, FIB, or other advanced analytical tools. 

  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems and small-scale assemblies. 

  • Familiarity with complaint handling systems and quality documentation. 

  • Basic understanding of root cause analysis and CAPA processes
