Job Description Summary

The Product Sourcing Leader (PSL) owns sourcing strategy and execution for an assigned product segment across the full lifecycle—from early NPI through Installed Base (IB) sustainment. This role is the key interface between Product Development and Global Operations / Supplier Management, driving supplier selection, ICV/target cost attainment, launch readiness, obsolescence mitigation, and ongoing quality/fulfillment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier strategy, selection & negotiation
    • Define and execute the segment supplier strategy (strategic/dual‑source/localization as appropriate), run competitive quoting and negotiations, and secure economics that achieve ICV/variance targets at each gate.
    • Lead Supplier Selection Review (SSR) tollgates (A/B) using SSR/PSSD standards (capability, Total Landed Cost, PRA, SPMC, Part‑to‑Print inputs) to secure leadership approval of nominations.
  • Cost, DtV, and should‑cost
    • Partner with Engineering and Category teams on DtV / should‑cost analysis, design tradeoffs, and platform simplification to deliver target ICV at M3/M4; maintain ICV allocation/tracking for new and carryover parts across the lifecycle.
  • Launch quality, fulfillment & compliance
    • Coordinate SQD/PQP inputs, lead supplier technical reviews, and verify process capability/PPAP (as applicable) to meet launch quality and OTD.
    • Drive material readiness and factory fulfillment requirements with Production/Materials, per NPI operating mechanics and program plan.
    • Operate within GEHC QMS/Purchasing Controls and obtain approvals in line with Delegation of Authority (DOA) for supplier contracts, LTBs, and variances throughout M0–M9.
  • Risk, vitality & IB lifecycle management (post‑M4 focus)
    • Own obsolescence/EOL and supply risk mitigation plans across M5–M9 (alternate components, dual‑source strategy, lifetime buys); ensure Installed Base continuity, cost productivity, and service parts readiness through end of support.
    • Partner with IB/Product Engineering and SQD to resolve supplier quality issues (SCARs, DPPM) and to execute compliant manufacturing transfers per standard work when needed.
