The Strategic Sourcing Leader is responsible to develop, implement and lead sourcing strategy and operating plan for Comprehensive Care Ultrasound business. You will work with suppliers worldwide within a team of sourcing leaders based globally. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Comprehensive Care Ultrasound, and is fully integrated into the business leadership team, per our Strategic Business unit principles.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Optimize the part & material definitions at R&D stage to make it easier to source
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
  • Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • De-risk supplier base proactively, from identifying the risk to executing the mitigation plan, in partnership with the Comprehensive Care Ultrasound business team
  • Identify, assess and select strategic suppliers for any NPI or Supplier Transfers and ensure supplier readiness to deliver targeted business requirements (Quality, Fulfillment, Cost and Cash) per the program milestones, in partnership with the Supplier Management, Supply Chain and Engineering teams.
  • Drive product costs down by 10%+ year over year through supplier negotiation and design change ideas, partnering with engineering/manufacturing, with a total cost mindset.
  • Lead suppliers through strategic partnership, establishing a win-win relationship, negotiating long term supplier agreements, and driving supplier performance up through the installed base & its product life cycle, including leading Supplier last time buys & claims with a proactive approach

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires advanced experience in the Sourcing & New Product Sourcing. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical products and manufacturing processes. Good understanding of Total Cost of Ownership and Landed Cost models and analysis.
