We are seeking a hands-on and process-driven Trade Compliance Operations Leader (f/m/d) to manage the daily execution of export compliance activities across global operations. This role is essential in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant export transactions while maintaining alignment with international trade regulations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of import/export compliance processes, including export screening, License application and shipment release.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Restricted Party List Screening (RPLS), embargoed country checks, and assignment of required classification and country of origin values.
  • Coordinate with logistics, order management, and warehouse teams to ensure compliant and efficient shipments.
  • Develop KPIs and manage process to drive continuous improvement in cycle time and compliance.
  • Monitor export transactions for holds and escalate potential compliance issues.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses to inquiries.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for trade compliance workflows.
  • Train and support operational teams on Customs compliance requirements and system usage.
  • Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to optimize trade compliance tools and automation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in export compliance operations or international logistics.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. export regulations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC) and global equivalents.
  • Experience with export documentation, classification, licensing, and screening processes.
  • Proficiency in export compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, OCR, Descartes, Visual Compliance).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining compliance documentation.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with trade compliance software (e.g., Oracle GTM, SAP GTS, Amber Road, Descartes)
  • Experience in a high-volume export environment or regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, electronics).
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience as either required or desired? Someone with statistical experience driving defect reduction via root cause pareto
  • Familiarity with automation and process improvement in export operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to train non-compliance personnel.
  • Professional certifications such as CUSECO, EXIM, or Licensed Customs Broker are a plus.

For Poland based positions, Annual Salary Range: 186.480-256.410 PLN

Placement within this range depends on:
- Relevant skills and qualifications
- Prior job-related experience
- Internal equity considerations (alignment with colleagues in similar roles) e.t.c.
