Position Summary
As a General Laborer reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced paper mill environment. Starting at $25.80/hour, pay increases to $26.80 after 60 days and $27.80 after six months, with potential to earn $70,000 in your first year including shift differentials and Sunday double time. Work rotating 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) after probation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams across departments for seamless production.
- Make process adjustments, monitor, and report product quality.
- Use troubleshooting skills to set up jobs and operate machinery.
- Safely handle tasks like forklift operation, paper breaks, parent roll creation, rewinder threading, roll packaging, staging products, retrieving supplies, finishing products, and assisting during maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Paper machine or industrial physical labor experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to read measuring devices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, attendance, positive attitude, and safety focus.
- Available for all rotating shifts; able to stand long periods, climb stairs, lift 25-50 lbs, work in hot/cold/humid conditions.
- Team player who reads instructions and multitasks effectively.
