GM Israel takes a significant part in introducing sophisticated software features into car in many domains like connected cars, advanced camera technologies and research. We shape the face of the future vehicles in diverse fields by developing cutting edge technologies. GM is committed to Zero Emission, Zero Crashes and Zero Congestion vision. 

The Wireless Connectivity R&D group is researching future connectivity technologies as well as methods for improving customer satisfaction with current connectivity technologies. As part of the work, we are researching both how to adjust all degrees of freedom we have in the communication system targeting for future vehicles as well as developing algorithms that will serve as the basis for future connectivity-based applications.

The Wireless Connectivity Intern would have a proven track record in:

  • Wireless connectivity theory as well as hands-on practice including modems, analog front ends, antennas and RF system
  • Advanced RF lab equipment
  • Preprocess, research and analyze connectivity related parameters derived either from simulations or from data collected in the field
     

Qualifications:

The desired background for this challenging role would be:

  • PhD or MSc student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
  • Strong background in wireless connectivity, both physical and higher layers, as well as de-facto cellular deployment, WLAN networks and KPI tradeoffs
  • Experience in RF and wireless connectivity lab work
  • Knowledge in Algorithms, Optimization, Probability, Statistics, Signal processing, Estimation/Detection Theory, and Information Theory
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, MATLAB
  • Demonstrate clarity of thought and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team
