Required Qualifications
- Experience in analytics roles focused on SaaS products (experience)
- Background combining data from multiple business systems like marketing automation, product analytics, ERP, CRM (experience)
- Proficiency writing complex SQL queries with joins, aggregations, CTEs, and conditional logic (experience)
- Skill in designing and building BI dashboards in Tableau that are maintainable and scalable (experience)
- Ability to translate complex business questions into clear analytical approaches (experience)
- Experience communicating findings and recommendations concisely and accessibly (experience)
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners like Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance (experience)
- Attention to data quality, security, and performance with clear documentation habits (experience)
- Openness to experimenting with new tools including generative AI (experience)
- Applying transferable skills from related analytics or data roles (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with customer lifecycle analytics (experience)
- Deep knowledge of SaaS metrics and product usage patterns (experience)
- Familiarity with GitLab.com or similar DevSecOps platforms (experience)
- Experience with Snowplow or behavioral analytics tools (experience)
- Background in GenAI applications for data analysis (experience)
- Mentoring or training junior analysts through code reviews (experience)
- Expertise in data modeling and schema design (experience)
- Strong storytelling skills with data visualizations (experience)
- Experience influencing long-term analytics roadmaps (experience)
- Proven track record in high-growth SaaS environments (experience)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Go-To-Market, Product, and Enterprise Data teammates to translate business questions
- Design and build dashboards and reports as single source of truth for customer lifecycle
- Explore and analyze data from GitLab.com, Salesforce, Zuora, Zendesk, Marketo, NetSuite, Snowplow
- Craft well-structured, maintainable visualizations in Tableau following internal standards
- Partner with Data Engineering to define requirements for customer and product data models
- Experiment with generative AI tooling for conversational data access
- Advocate for improvements in data quality, security, and performance
- Serve as SME in data visualization through code reviews, pairing, and training
- Uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for customer growth and improvement
- Support decision-making at scale with trusted visibility into customer behavior
