Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing with Ruby and JavaScript, demonstrating proficiency in fullstack engineering. (experience)

  • Proven involvement in open source communities, including contributing to recognized projects. (experience)
  • Ability to coach and guide community members on both technical and non-technical aspects of contribution. (experience)
  • Effective communication skills, including public speaking and customer interaction experience. (experience)
  • Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing projects and driving results independently. (experience)
  • Openness to diverse backgrounds and transferable skills, with commitment to inclusive culture. (experience)
  • Experience leading projects and coaching cohorts in community or technical settings. (experience)
  • Familiarity with analyzing community contributions and metrics. (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Drive contribution efficiency by leading and managing contributor success projects.
  • Coach and lead cohorts of community members with technical and non-technical guidance.
  • Track and analyze community contributions and engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with Programs team on Education, Open Source, AI tooling, and Contributor initiatives.
  • Advocate for improvements based on community feedback to enhance contributor experience.
  • Participate as a permanent member of GitLab’s merge request coaching team.
  • Facilitate Contributor Success team stand-ups and agile processes.
  • Travel to customer sites to onboard and guide new contributors.
  • Develop project plans to accelerate community output and engagement.
  • Support internal and external collaboration to grow the contributor base.
