- Solid understanding of cloud-native deployment architectures. (experience)
- Expertise in database lifecycle management for stateful systems like PostgreSQL. (experience)
- Experience with schema migrations and zero-downtime upgrade strategies. (experience)
- Track record running consumer-scale or enterprise-scale platforms. (experience)
- Ability to investigate complex deployment and operational issues. (experience)
- Experience building and supporting high-performing distributed teams. (experience)
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve outcomes. (experience)

- Background in a product-focused software company or startup environment. (experience)

Responsibilities
- Lead a globally distributed GitLab Delivery team to consistent results.
- Hire, onboard, and develop team members aligned with company values.
- Manage and enhance agile, async workflows for high-quality deliveries.
- Partner with Product Management and engineering peers on business alignment.
- Own reliability, upgrade velocity, and simplicity of GitLab deployments.
- Improve customer deployment, upgrade, and operation experiences.
- Guide decisions using expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, and orchestration.
- Participate in Incident Management on-call for GitLab.com availability.
- Foster an environment where team members thrive and innovate.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Support, and Customer Success teams.
