- Hands-on background in Go and/or Rust for high-performance backend services (experience)
- Familiarity with service mesh, mTLS, zero-trust networking, and secure tunnels like gRPC (experience)
- Understanding of token systems such as JWT or Macaroons with cryptographic key management (experience)
- Experience with databases like RDS, Google Spanner, or Postgres for auth workloads (experience)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native deployment patterns (experience)
- Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and GitOps practices (experience)
- Deep technical expertise in distributed systems, proxy technologies, and infrastructure security (experience)
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating systems handling millions of requests per second (experience)
- Background in zero-downtime infrastructure migrations (experience)
- Expertise in short-lived certificate management (experience)

- Lead the Auth Infrastructure team, setting direction and supporting growth
- Drive design of Envoy proxy, token services, and policy decision components
- Solve challenges like mTLS, short-lived certificates, and service mesh architecture
- Ensure reliability across all deployment models
- Lead performance optimization for high-throughput authentication
- Develop monitoring, observability, and debugging for distributed systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers with sustainable processes
- Enable zero-trust architecture and modular platform evolution
- Partner with teams to meet authentication infrastructure needs
