Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience running PostgreSQL in high-growth, large production environments (experience)

- Solid understanding of SQL, PL/pgSQL, data modeling, and data structure design (experience)
- Ability to analyze PostgreSQL internals to troubleshoot and optimize systems (experience)
- Experience working in large-scale, distributed SaaS production environments (experience)
- Strong written communication skills and commitment to documentation (experience)
- Proactive, hands-on approach where you identify issues and take ownership of solutions (experience)
- Capability to mentor junior team members and develop deep expertise in domain areas (experience)
- Backend engineering experience with languages such as Ruby or Go (experience)
- Familiarity with OLAP databases like Clickhouse (experience)

Responsibilities
- Automate operational tasks across all environments, from package updates to provisioning
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL database infrastructure components for reliable scaling
- Respond to production incidents and platform emergencies, diagnosing database issues
- Build observability systems that monitor database health and predict capacity needs
- Develop and ship database performance solutions with product and engineering teams
- Create self-service tools and automation for database resource management
- Document decisions, learnings, and operational procedures for repeatability
- Participate in regularly scheduled on-call rotations for off-hours support
- Review database changes and provide infrastructure recommendations
- Lead projects improving system efficiency, reliability, and performance
