Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years sales experience in U.S. State and Local Government and Higher Education institutions (experience)
  • Experience working within regulated environments (experience)
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (experience)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation (experience)
  • Understanding of secure development practices (experience)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure modernization (experience)
  • Understanding of State procurement vehicles (experience)
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and agency buying cycles (experience)
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments (experience)
  • Consultative sales approach aligning solutions to modernization initiatives (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage major accounts with high ownership (experience)
  • Working under minimal supervision on complex opportunities (experience)
  • Skill in collaborating with system integrators and resellers (experience)
  • Partnering with internal pre- and post-sales teams (experience)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (experience)
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to build consensus (experience)
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values (experience)
  • Openness to learning and applying transferable skills (experience)
  • Experience with public issue trackers for feedback (experience)
  • Background in driving customer rollouts and adoption (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Own a defined book of strategic business accounts
  • Build and execute multi-year account plans
  • Navigate complex procurement cycles
  • Partner with system integrators and resellers
  • Develop trusted relationships with CIOs and stakeholders
  • Drive successful rollouts and adoption of GitLab
  • Coordinate with pre- and post-sales engineering teams
  • Share customer feedback via public issue tracker
  • Align GitLab solutions with agency priorities
  • Represent customer needs to influence product roadmap
