Job Description
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (degree)
- 5 years of experience in program management (experience)
- 5 years of experience in a technical quality role (experience)
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related (degree)
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze field performance data (e.g., telemetry, Return Materials/Merchandise Authorization (RMA) data, customer feedback, diagnostic logs) to identify trends, anomalies, and potential quality issues.
- Lead and support root cause investigations for field failures, collaborating with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
- Drive containment actions and permanent corrective actions for identified quality issues, ensuring implementation across the supply chain.
- Partner with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to provide feedback from the field, collaborating with future product designs and manufacturing processes for improved quality.
- Work with suppliers to address component and sub-assembly quality issues impacting field performance.
- Generate regular reports on field quality performance, communicate insights to stakeholders, and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
