Key Responsibilities

As an Applied Research Scientist, you'll drive innovation from research to deployment:

1. Develop advanced NLP, ML, and DL tools for English text correction, improvement, and enhancement.
2. Productize research prototypes into scalable features used by millions daily.
3. Monitor and incorporate the latest trends from top conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, and ACL.

7. Design and execute experiments to validate model efficacy and user impact.
8. Optimize transformer models and LLMs for production efficiency.

10. Analyze large-scale user data to uncover AI enhancement opportunities.
11. Represent Grammarly/Superhuman at industry events and publish groundbreaking research.
12. Scale ML infrastructure to handle exponential growth in users and data.
13. Contribute to technical blogs and documentation to advance team knowledge.

Qualifications

To succeed, you'll bring:

• Strong theoretical foundation in ML/DL algorithms, including transformers and optimization techniques.
• 6–7+ years industry experience developing ML/DL for real-world products.
• 4–5+ years specialized research in NLP, text generation, or related areas.
• Proven success shipping production ML systems at scale.
• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in CS, ML, or equivalent.
• Expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow, Python, and MLOps tools.
• Experience with LLMs, NER, sentiment analysis, and text augmentation.
• Track record of publications or contributions to open-source ML projects.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Passion for AI's role in eliminating busywork and boosting productivity.
