Role Description

The Actuarial Product Consultant plays a pivotal role in pricing, developing, and supporting existing and new annuity products. This visible position involves hands-on modeling, sophisticated solutions design, and collaboration across product development, valuation, finance, hedging, reinsurance, IT, legal, and corporate actuarial teams. We're seeking a curious, technically proficient actuary with expertise in economic analysis, risk management, and clear communication to senior leaders.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support pricing strategy and Net Benefit Value (NBV) reporting for existing and future annuity products.
  • Conduct detailed actuarial analysis and modeling to ensure pricing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in developing and validating actuarial models, adhering to company and regulatory governance standards.
  • Lead or contribute to projects for new product development and enhancements to annuity models and offerings.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and provide actuarial support to diverse teams.
  • Communicate results effectively via spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, memos, and emails.
  • Apply actuarial principles, programming, and business knowledge to solve complex problems in ALM modeling and risk management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed, you need strong analytical prowess and the ability to work independently in a team setting. Key skills include:

  • Expertise in asset and/or liability modeling using GGY AXIS.
  • Proficiency in Python and VBA for advanced analytics (preferred).
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives and hedging strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and presentations.
  • Deep understanding of annuity products like Income Annuities, MYGAs, and Fixed Index Annuities.

Education & Experience

  • Recent FSA designation from the Society of Actuaries (required).
  • 5+ years of insurance experience, preferably in product pricing, Economic Capital, or Cash Flow Testing modeling and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects in a collaborative environment.

Compensation Overview

The base salary range for this Actuarial Product Consultant position is $152,290 - $250,195 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills. Additional incentives may include annual bonuses, sales incentives, or other compensation. This is a good faith estimate for our New York location.
