Role Description

We are seeking a strategic problem-solver for Guardian’s Enterprise Strategy team. In the role of Enterprise Strategy Manager, you will be part of a project team that solves complex problems, develops long-range and short-term plans for Guardian, and partners with senior leaders to identify, develop, evaluate, prioritize, and deliver strategic initiatives across the organization. You will work closely with Guardian’s Strategic Projects and Corporate Development teams, as well as senior leaders in the business units and corporate functions.

The role reports to Guardian’s Head of Strategic Growth & Planning. This highly visible team is responsible for overall strategy development, executing cross-cutting strategic initiatives, and managing strategic planning processes across the enterprise. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-visibility projects spanning strategy development, strategic planning, initiative execution, communications, and new initiative exploration.

Detailed Responsibilities

Strategy Development

  • Help define the strategic direction, with both near-term and long-term priorities for Guardian or specific business units using research, analytics, logical problem solving, and strategic frameworks.

Strategic Planning and Monitoring

  • Translate long-term strategic priorities into operational strategic planning processes, including setting Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and allocating portfolio resources toward high-value projects.
  • Monitor cascading metrics and goals for business areas aligned with the strategic plan.

Execution of Cross-Cutting Strategic Initiatives

  • Support cross-enterprise strategic efforts critical to Guardian’s overall success.
  • Manage business performance of initiatives, implementing processes to monitor metrics aligned with the strategic plan.

Strategic Communications Development

  • Develop and deliver content for Guardian Leadership Team and Board of Directors, focusing on strategic recommendations, progress, and priorities.

New Initiative Exploration

  • In collaboration with business areas, assess and develop business cases, market sizing, and external research to drive innovation, partnerships, and investments beyond business-as-usual (BAU).

To deliver on these, you will utilize strategic frameworks, build quantitative and qualitative analyses, perform competitive research, identify data implications, develop concise communications for senior management, present findings, and build trust across Guardian.

Required Skills

You are an excellent generalist problem-solver, strong analyst proficient in Excel and quantitative/qualitative methods, effective communicator, collaborative team player, proactive self-starter, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top institution with strong academic performance.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting or in-house strategy teams; experience at a top management consulting firm preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical toolkit; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $118,980.00 - $195,465.00. This is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location. Actual salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, and abilities.
