Role Description

The External Life Wholesaler - Northeast plays a pivotal role in driving Guardian's life insurance sales growth. This position requires developing strategic business plans to secure new client relationships, retain and expand existing ones, and aggressively sell our suite of proprietary life insurance products, with a focus on whole life solutions. You'll maximize territory sales in the Northeast, attain ambitious sales goals, and maintain a heavy travel schedule (60%-80% weekly) to conduct field representative (FR) meetings, agency presentations, and industry events. Key stakeholders include Guardian Product, Distribution, Financial Professionals, Marketing, Life Insurance specialists, Brokerage, and Sales teams. From competitive analysis to advanced sales techniques, you'll position Guardian products as the superior choice in a competitive marketplace.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Travel extensively (60%-80% weekly) to Guardian General Agencies within the assigned Northeast territory to generate new business opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of life insurance sales leads, ensuring consistent progression toward sales targets.
  • Attend and present at industry conferences, regional events, and networking opportunities to build interest in Guardian's proprietary life insurance products.
  • Initiate and follow up on sales calls, provide innovative sales ideas, and identify emerging opportunities in the life insurance sector.
  • Track and report sales activity weekly, including pipeline updates, competitive intelligence, and performance metrics.
  • Continually monitor competitor practices in the life insurance market and report insights to the Head of National Sales.
  • Generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and ad hoc special projects to support sales strategies and leadership decisions.
  • Act as a thought leader, educating and developing the field force on advanced life insurance solutions, particularly whole life products.
  • Collaborate with Internal Wholesalers to build and manage key relationships, fostering cross-functional teamwork across Guardian.
  • Facilitate collaborative relationships across Guardian departments to drive overall sales success.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000

This reflects a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary remote location. Final salary will be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation, rewarding top performers who meet and exceed targets.
