Role Description

As a valued member of the Group FP&A team, the Group FP&A Senior Analyst serves as a financial subject matter expert for Underwriting and Operations organizations. You'll act as a trusted business partner to Group Benefits stakeholders, providing analytically driven insights to inform decision-making, optimize financial results, and assess planned earnings impact. This hybrid role offers the perfect balance of collaboration and flexibility, with 3 days in a Guardian office (Holmdel, NJ; Bethlehem, PA; Boston, MA, or Hudson Yards, NYC) and 2 days work-from-home (WFH).

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Drive month-end accounting and processing of data related to Group Underwriting and Operations, including planning, forecasting, variance analytics, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Partner with Group Benefits management on initiative tracking processes, ensuring financial data aligns accurately with initiatives on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with Business Finance leadership to enhance transparency into the financial impact of key initiatives and streamline processes for greater efficiency.
  • Deliver actionable insights and analytics on departmental expenses and spending trends, highlighting risks and opportunities while providing recommendations for efficiencies and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements through automation, offshoring, or elimination to drive operational excellence.
  • Conduct advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and budgeting for group benefits.
  • Present professional analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing high-level business decisions.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects, ensuring timely delivery under tight deadlines during peak periods.

Education & Experience

  • 3-7 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work additional hours during peak sessions, and support multiple business partners.
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted business partner in team environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, willingness to learn, and ability to make data-driven suggestions to management independently.

Compensation Overview

The base salary range for this Group FP&A Senior Analyst position is $82,770 - $135,975 annually, reflecting a good faith estimate for the primary New York location. Actual compensation is determined based on education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. This role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation, plus comprehensive benefits.
