Role Description

You are a strategic product leader with deep expertise in FIA and RILA annuities. You excel at translating market insights into innovative, customer-focused solutions and driving execution through cross-functional teams. You lead through others, influence senior stakeholders, and make high-impact decisions that shape Guardian’s annuity strategy and long-term growth. This executive role reports to senior leadership and collaborates with key stakeholders across Guardian Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and Distribution.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Guardian’s FIA and RILA product strategy to drive growth and differentiation in the competitive annuity market.
  • Translate market insights, regulatory changes, and customer needs into actionable product roadmaps that align with business objectives.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle management, including ideation, pricing, launch, performance monitoring, and continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with distribution, legal, compliance, and technology teams to ensure seamless product delivery and regulatory adherence.
  • Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, resolve critical issues, and secure resources for strategic initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to support both strategic goals and day-to-day operational excellence.
  • Develop talent through subordinate managers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to position Guardian as a leader in FIA and RILA products.
  • Drive customer-centric innovation by analyzing feedback and market data to enhance product features and value propositions.

Required Skills

Guardian is looking for a leader with proven expertise in annuity product management. Key skills include strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and deep regulatory knowledge.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in annuity product development or management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing FIA and RILA products.
  • Deep knowledge of FIA and RILA products, including pricing models, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of annuity distribution channels, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.
  • A strong track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive financial performance, market share growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience leading through managers, developing high-performing teams, and influencing across matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to gain consensus, navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, and lead transformative initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, or related field strongly preferred.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $151,950.00 - $249,630.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position in New York, United States. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
