Role Description

The Head of Group Benefit Pricing and Analytics is a pivotal leadership position overseeing a team of actuaries and analysts. You'll partner with cross-functional leaders in finance, actuarial, and business development to implement best-in-class pricing practices. Key focus areas include rate development, state filings, predictive analytics integration, and economic projection models for group and retail products. This role ensures pricing strategies fuel profitable growth, comply with regulations, and adapt to emerging market trends in the competitive insurance landscape.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead the group pricing team with mentorship, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
  • Execute rate development and state rate filings for Group Benefits including Dental, Vision, Absence & Disability, Life, and Supplemental Health.
  • Drive modernization of pricing approaches, integrating advanced rating platforms and predictive analytics for enhanced accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders to align pricing with corporate financial plans, including manual rating and experience rating assumption reviews.
  • Partner with GB Head of Finance and Actuarial to manage pricing for Retail/Direct-to-Consumer offerings.
  • Lead Dental Network analysis and provider fee schedule management.
  • Maintain pricing economic projection models for all group products, incorporating new business value assessments.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new product development, customer well-being offerings, and emerging distribution partnerships.
  • Improve pricing model risk governance and ensure compliant rate implementations.
  • Assist with experience reporting and advanced analytics to track group business performance and trends.
  • Collaborate with Group Benefits leadership to align pricing philosophy with strategic growth initiatives.

  • Demonstrated leadership with senior executives and strong analytical skills to translate complex data into compelling narratives.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $178,690 - $293,560 (base pay for New York, NY). Total compensation determined by education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. Eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation. Primary location: New York, NY (with flexibility for Bethlehem, PA) and travel as needed.

Role Description
