Role Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Communications, you'll serve as a strategic communications advisor to C-Suite executives in our Group Benefits division. This hybrid role (3 days in-office at our New York hub) involves up to 20% domestic travel and leadership of a talented team of communicators. You'll develop and execute integrated strategies that foster engagement, support change management, and amplify Guardian's enterprise goals through omni-channel content.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee integrated communications strategies, including planning, program management, and execution for Group Benefits.
  • Lead high-impact projects: executive messaging, internal campaigns, change management communications, and town halls.
  • Drive strategic content creation across channels—emails, intranet articles, infographics, social media, videos, and scripts—to boost colleague understanding and engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders, ensuring stakeholder input for seamless project delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of experienced communicators, fostering growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Innovate with emerging technologies to create engaging, multi-channel campaigns that connect employees to business strategy and culture.

  • Excellent writing/editing skills and ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced settings.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $132,420 - $217,545 annually (base pay for New York location). Total compensation determined by education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Eligible for annual, sales, or other incentives. Guardian Life offers competitive pay reflective of market rates for senior communications roles in New York’s insurance sector.
